Anita Abedian is a New York-based, Emmy-nominated multimedia journalist, covering everything from crime and politics to arts and culture. She is currently reporting and producing news segments and long form stories at NY1 News. She was part of the team at NY1 that won a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for News Documentary. She has previously worked as a staff reporter at the Village Voice, associate producer at CNBC, and online content producer at CBS Interactive. She also contributed reporting to an investigative project on the online gambling industry that ran on the front page of the New York Times.
When she's not immersed in a story, she enjoys traveling, creative writing, producing audio narratives, and lending a helping paw at animal rescue shelters.
